Hi there, it's nice to meet you!
I've been writing in one form or another since I was a very young girl. I can remember writing stories and drawing pictures of cats when I had free time in elementary school and I started writing in a journal when I was about 9 years old. Although the pages are now faded and worn, I still have that first journal, and all the rest. I used to write TO the journal, as if I was speaking to it. I would tell it about my day and ask how it was doing.
When I was 12 I wrote what I call my first "real" story. It was called Sweetland. I was so proud of that story I copied it several times, just in case I ever misplaced the original. You can read it here.
In 2013, I got married to my wonderful husband, Craig, and became the mother of a 10-year-old special needs child. In July of that year, I quit my job to stay home full time. This gave me the opportunity to focus more on my writing career. In 2017 I self-published my first non-fiction book and have been writing professionally every since.
In 2018 my husband and I moved to our forever home in Ogden Valley, Utah where we started our small hobby farm JulBud Ranch where we raise chickens and Nigerian Dwarf goats.
I know first hand how hard life can be at times. The frustration, the hurts, and the disappointments. My stories aim to encourage people in the midst of life's trials. I hope every book I write, whether fiction or non-fiction, will encourage my readers to keep pressing on, to find joy in the little things, and above all, find a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you choose to read my books, thank you. I hope you enjoy and are blessed by them.
Thank you,
Angela E. Powell
